Juice Cleanse Day 3
Honestly, I am so surprised that I have lasted till day three on this cleanse. My 3rd day of no actual food. Crazy. I have been smelling a lot of food. Somehow it helps with the not eating. Whenever there's food around and people are eating, I just come up and smell their food.. lol... kinda makes it feel like I'm the one eating... but I'm not : (

I had a bad headache all night long.. Had kind of a hard time sleeping cause of it. At around 6am, I got me some rosemary oil (it's supposed to help make headaches go away)... I kept smelling it, but it still didn't work... at around 10 am, the headache was still horrible, so I drank some Feverfew.... STILL the headache wouldn't go away. Finally, I just gave up and drank 2 Tylenol... about an hour later, the headache subsided... I could still feel it a little bit every once in a while, but it was more bearable.

The last 3 days I have also been a bit nauseous. Not too horrible, but enough for me to be uncomfortable at times.

This morning, I was so nauseous, I didn't want any juice. I really wanted food, but the juice made me wanna throw up. Finally, around 11, I juiced some salad greens and celery and mixed it into my watermelon/cucumber juice from day 2's dinner... it wasn't bad.. but it still made me wanna throw up...

Ugh. This is the afternoon of day 3 and its still hard. Jenni keeps telling me that it'll get easier, so I'm waiting for the day.... lol... obviously its not day 3 when it gets easier...

But I'm hanging on.. gonna find some good recipes for my juicing, to make it easier for me to do this...

I hope my writing will get more interesting, more fun, with more pictures and stats and recipes. But for now, I feel like crap. So all I was able to do was summarize my 3 days thus far. Bear with me... :)

Juice Cleanse Day 2
I'll cut to the chase... I lasted on my 2nd day too!! :)

But it was absolutely horrible!!!  I wanted to cry! I was just so hungry. And the fact that my work was having a BBQ did NOT help!! I just sat there and smelled the beans. After I helped set up the BBQ, I just left. I couldn't stand it. The hamburgers, the hot dogs, the BBQ chicken, the variety of pasta salads, beans, chips, sweets. It was all too hard to bear. So I went for a walk for 1 hour and 40 minutes. I walked up hill for 50 minutes, took a 5 minute break and walked back down hill for another 50 minutes or so... I walked over 5 miles. Wow, I was exhausted and I STILL had the stupid, painful, annoying headache... but I lasted through the day without taking any Tylenol.

I went home and laid the rest of the day. I felt like crap and I just wanted to quit.. Again... My sister and her husband came over to support and encourage me and to make sure I didn't eat... lol... I didn't eat. I lasted.. in pain, and unhappily... but I lasted in hopes that this will get better....

I guess I'm just really toxic and totally detoxing... hoping it'll be a fast detox....

The juice I made for my 2nd day consisted of:
   an apple
   4 celery stalks
   4 tomatoes
1 cup of organic salad greens/spinach

It actually turned out quite yummy. I had to add a cup of water with lime juice and salt to it... I drank it all day. It didn't last as long, but it was good.

For dinner I made me juice from watermelon and a cucumber.

It was good too... THEN Jenni & Valik came over, we had plum juice together... lol.. instead of cake or other sweets, we had plum juice...

And then I went to bed... still with a major headache :(

Juice Cleanse
As you know... I have not updated this blog for quite a while. There was nothing to update you with. I was still just as fat, just as helpless, and just as unsuccessful in my dieting...

But now, I am hopeful, and I want to share it with you!! My sister and her husband started on a raw/juicing diet and were having such great results, that I decided to jump on the bandwagon with them before they got too far ahead of me...

On September 22, 2011 I started my Juicing Cleanse. I am not sure how long I want to do it for, but I guess my 1st goal is 10 days. Hopefully I last that long...

The 1st day was ok. I wasn't prepared, so I just juiced whatever we had. Right before work, I made myself a juice and put it into a jar to take it to work with me. The jar (I don't know how many oz it is) lasted me all day.

My 1st juice:
   a Pear
   some carrots
   1/2 a watermelon
   4 celery stalks
As far as I can remember, that's all I put in it. Surprisingly it tasted good.. a bit too sweet, but I drank it periodically throughout the day...

Since I wasn't eating lunch at work, I decided to go for a walk instead. I walked UPHILL for 1/2 an hour and then walked back down hill for another 1/2 hour. I covered 3.7 miles... Felt great!!

I got a headache around lunch time. I drank some green tea and took 1 Tylenol. But the headache still didn't go away. Besides the headache, physically I felt amazing... and yet I still wanted to quit. I just wanted food. Like a cheeseburger or something horrible but yummy!!

But... I lasted!! With God's help, and the amazing support of my family, I made it through my 1st day... yay!! I was thrilled!!

My Brother-in-Law Needs a Tooth
Ok, so my brother-in-law needs a front tooth made by a doctor. It costs a lot of money. So, if you have some extra cash and a giving heart, then feel free to donate some of your money towards his medical bill. Below is Valik's (my brother-in-law's) statement:

I Need A Front Tooth
Please help me pay for my new prosthetic tooth
(THIS IS NOT A JOKE!)
On August 19th, the steps to what will have become some people's worse fear have begun... Valik Rudd has felt pain in his top front tooth that made tears well up in his eyes. Hoping it was just some freak pain that will go away in a few hours, he kept his hopes high. As the days rolled by, the pain only got worse. Now three days later, it is unavoidable that the tooth will have to go.

UPDATE: It is August 23rd, the tooth is out and it's not pretty.
Can you imagine, having your front top tooth missing? Can you imagine attending a professional meeting or trying to talk to a customer while the person you are talking to just continues to stare at the gaping hole in your mouth, and not because they are paying attention to your every word?
Now it would be ok if a replacement tooth did not cost so much (form $2000 to $3000), but unlike most people, Valik does not have insurance nor money to pay for it.

UPDATE: There is another option that we found out about that costs $1647, so that will be our goal.
Please donate what you can! Valik will appreciate any help. Do you have a prosthetic tooth you can donate? (jk, no used teeth will be accepted as means of donation)
Thanks So Much!
Note: If the tooth will not end up being removed, the funds raised will go towards whatever fixing it will require to keep the existing tooth and Valik's ability to give warm friendly smiles to his friends and customers. And to get rid of this crazy pain, so he can get back to work in FanPageEngine.

My Latest Update
I know that it has been a really long time since I have update. I guess I didn’t really feel a desire to do it. Nothing was working. No matter how hard or how little I tried, my weight just wanted to be stubborn. I could starve myself for a week, and gain weight, or I could just eat regularly and gain the same weight. So I stopped trying altogether, and thus had no desire to write about it until now.

For a while now I have suspected issues with my body, and thyroid dysfunction kept running through my head. My sister and my mother (who are both overweight) have recently been to a Naturopath and were both diagnosed with Thyroid issues. They started taking supplements and whatever else the doctor prescribed and started losing weight without even trying. Up to date, my sister has lost at least 50 pounds if not more (she doesn’t keep track and doesn’t weight herself regularly). My mother has lost 17 without trying one bit.

I decided that rather than starting another diet and putting more money into the dieting world, I would rather spend the money on going to the same Naturopath and actually getting checked out. Let me tell you, it was money very well spent!!

I had my 1st appt with the Naturopath on March 15th. We talked for a little, I gave him my background, explained to him the issues I was having and told him that I thought I had Thyroid issues and why and that maybe something else was wrong with me... but that was for him to figure out.

He ran several tests on me, including a blood test, a toxicity test, and a thyroid reflex test. The reflex test told him right then and there that I had a low functioning thyroid. But I had to wait 3 weeks to get all the other results back. That was not fun. Anyone who knows me well knows that patience is not a huge trait of mine...

During all this time, my weight crept up. The highest I’ve gotten so far this year is 194.6 and that was on April 6th.... my lowest weight this year was on February 17, and that was 188.4... So only about a 6 pound difference... Actually writing these numbers on here for everyone to read is really embarrassing.

On April 5th I had my 2nd Naturopath appt. This time he went over my test results and told me what I need to be doing. He set my test results on the desk, looked at me and said “You’re messed up.” lol... I just started laughing. Glad it wasn’t just all in my head. It was a relief to know that he found what was wrong with me and was actually able to fix my issues. I was and still am very excited! He explained what was wrong with my gut and why my body was not assimilating any vitamins or minerals. That has a lot to do with my not being able to lose weigh along with my Thyroid issues.

So far I have paid the Naturopath around $500 and my supplements have cost me around $175. It’s quite a lot of money, but I don’t regret it one bit. I have already seen quite a difference in my body within just a few days of taking the supplements he prescribed to me. I have noticed that I am LOT hungrier... which at first freaked me out... but I weighed myself and was very happy to see that within 2 days of starting the supplements, I lost 2 pounds without changing ANYTHING....

That is my update for now. I am going to give my body a few days (maybe a few weeks) to adjust to all this new stuff entering my body and after that I plan to REALLY start trying to lose weight. I am very optimistic at this point... I’ll keep you updated!
